Area girls basketball: Monona Grove tops Milton

Monona Grove scored 56 first-half points on its way to a 77-34 Badger South Conference victory at Milton on Tuesday night.

The Silver Eagles scored 28 points in each of the first two quarters. They were led by Alexa Kelsey's 26 points, while Taylor Nelson added 16.

Milton, which fell to 1-10 overall and 0-4 in league play, got 13 points from Sydney Harms.

East Troy 42, Palmyra-Eagle 32—Katrina Santos scored 21 points as the Trojans jumped out to an 18-4 lead after one quarter and coasted the rest of the way.

M.E. Dodge added eight points for host East Troy, which moved to 2-4 in league play. Palmyra-Eagle fell to 0-6.
