MILTON—The city of Milton announced temporary closure of Plumb Street on the city's east side for ongoing construction at the future Blackhawk Technical College Advanced Manufacturing Center.

Parts of Plumb Street near Madison Avenue will be closed or have restricted traffic starting this week through Feb. 3, according to a release.

The closure comes as construction crews plan to bring in a large crane to help transform the former Burdick building at 15 Plumb St. into Blackhawk Tech's Advanced Manufacturing Center.

The city is asking motorists and pedestrians to steer clear of the construction area along Plumb Street for the next few weeks.

Milton School District students and parents who use Plumb Street to get to and from school should plan alternate routes until Plumb Street reopens.
