Mr. Darrell Gene “Butch” Huber, 55, of Blackshear, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his residence. Born in Janesville, WI, on March 30, 1958, he had lived in Pierce County since 2004. Mr. Huber had been a supervisor/production manager with the Simmons Corporation in Jacksonville, FL, and Waycross, and was a US Navy veteran. He enjoyed golfing, working on cars and fresh and saltwater fishing. A very handy and creative man, he also enjoyed woodworking and making his children and grandchildren presents. He was a son of the late Allen Darrell and Carol Jean Lee Huber.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Jasensky Huber of Blackshear; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennie Lynn and Russell Crider of Columbia, SC; his son, Joshua Huber of Blackshear; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shawne and Joe Campos of Janesville, and Melinda and Jake Holuerson of Ashland, WI; three brothers: Duane Huber of Janesville, Dale Huber of Wickenburg, AZ, and Dean Huber of Perry, GA; his grandson, Wyatt Crider; his beloved nieces and nephews: Aaron, Ashley, Brionna, Mandy, Keenan, April, Crystal, Maribeck, Billy, Cristina, Justin, Jethro and Jeremy, Jr.; and several other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Huber will be held Friday evening, Jan. 10, 2014, at 6 p.m. from the PEARSON-DIAL CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the service.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
