On global warming: I don’t hear anybody talking about it anymore since this winter and last summer. How can the experts and the scientists think they know what they’re talking about? History always repeats itself. I’m 60 years old. I know.

-- Regarding the picture on Page 6B Friday of passengers on the ship trapped in the ice in Antarctica, it is fascinating that the crew is researching the disappearing Arctic ice caused by global warming. Newsbusters.com reported that 97.5 percent of news stories about the ship failed to mention that mission. Much too embarrassing to report.

-- In the 8th century, there were people called seers who predicted the future. In the 21st century, they’re called climate scientists. It matters not that their predictions are wrong over and over; they are still believed and given respect. Some people say it’s more politics than science, but I believe it’s more like a religion.

On paper delivery: My thanks to the Beloit Daily News for delivering my paper Saturday morning when The Gazette couldn’t.

On Leonard Pitts: His column on “Duck Dynasty” says idiocy does not create a First Amendment offense, but obviously the fact Pitts is still in the newspaper proves he’s right. It also seems you can say racist things in your newspaper column on an almost weekly basis with impunity provided you’re black.

On Badger football: Memo to Coach Andersen concerning last season’s four losses: Spend more time coaching and no time shooting annoying Toyota commercials. Thank you. I’m a Badger fan.

On Packers in playoffs: I’m appalled at what you see on the front page of Sunday’s Gazette. You have San Francisco on the page instead of supporting our local team, the Green Bay Packers, playing in the playoff. It’s upsetting to see that.

-- It’s pathetic that the front page has San Francisco on it instead of supporting our Wisconsin team. The Green Bay Packers should be on the front page, not San Francisco.

-- The Packers gave out 70,000 hand warmers. Why don’t they fix up that football with some kind of warmer thing inside it so it would stay soft enough so they can hang on to the thing and stop losing it?

-- Regarding Sunday’s Sound Off on the Packers going to Soldier Field and knocking the Chicago Bears out of the playoffs a second time being “priceless,” are you kidding me? These are just games. You sound like a 6-year-old. Just wish them both well.

-- Gosh, going to Lambeau Field and knocking the Packers out of the playoffs, priceless. Seriously, it doesn’t get any better than that.

-- Corporate interests, which are demonized by Hollywood and the Left, purchased remaining Packer tickets so fans could watch the game. They did it for self-interest, yet you still benefited just like the public benefits from the taxes they pay, jobs they provide and goods and services they produce. People need to quit listening to fools on the Left

On health benefits: Obama and Democrats are trying to claim that unless someone else pays for it you’re being denied access to contraception. No one is denying anyone the right to contraception; they’re simply saying we don’t want to pay for it. The reason Democrats can’t be honest about this or practically any other issue is because if they’re honest, they can’t win the argument.

On bus garage: This is in response to Sunday’s Sound Off. The problem with bus garage costs is the same as the county courthouse with its useless, leaking empty tower. Look at the fancy curved upper windows on the new bus garage. How much are they costing? The Gazette should hire an architect to examine and protect taxpayers from frivolous expenses.

On education: America has historically led the world in its education and science research, but no longer! These must be restored at whatever cost if the U.S. is to survive and prosper in the high-tech world of the 21st century.
