April 9, 1938 - December 26, 2013

Bruce L. Brown, 75, of Milton, WI, passed away at home after a 7 1/2 year battle with kidney cancer. He was attended by his wife, sons, Agrace HospiceCare and many close relatives. Born April 9, 1938, in Milton, to Berlie and Gertrude (Lewis) Brown, Bruce attended grade school in Milton and graduated from Janesville School of Vocational and Adult Education. At age 18, he was employed as a machinist by Yates American of Beloit, WI, where he worked for over 20 years. From Yates American, he went on to work for another 20 plus years at Versa Tool in Beloit. He was also very active with his business, Brownies Custom Wheels, spending many nights and weekends in his basement shop rebuilding wood spoke wheels and other Model T parts for vehicles made as early as 1903. He enjoyed deer and wild turkey hunting, as well as being a life member of the Rifle Man Association and the Rock River Thresheree. Bruce was also a member of the Rock River Buckskinners and enjoyed many trips as a joint member with his wife, Mary, in Willy's Overland Club and the Model T Club. He recently revisited an old passion for building cannons, which is shared by his sons, Leon and Leonard. Many mornings he could be found with the coffee clutches at Milton Family Restaurant or Deb's Squeeze Inn, keeping up with local gossip.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary (Olson) Brown; two sons, Leon (Bobbie) and Leonard (Deborah); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ron; and sister, Janet (Dale) Weber; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Berlie and Gertrude; and in-laws, Merrill and Ruth Ann Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at the CHURCH on Monday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, EDGERTON, are assisting the family with arrangements.
