SULLIVAN—Patchy dense fog is expected through Friday morning's commute.

According to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service, Sullivan, areas of fog have developed over most of southern Wisconsin under mostly clear skies and light winds.

Patches of dense fog are reducing visibilities to -mile or less.

Law enforcement reports indicate banks of dense fog are drifting over area roads with visibilities reduced to a couple hundred feet then clearing on the other side of the dense fog bank.

Early morning commuters should be alert for sudden changes in visibilities and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.

The fog may settle on roads, bridges and sidewalks making them icy in spots.
