Jets return from break with a win
A nearly two-week break couldn't cool off the Janesville Jets.
They went on the road and scored one goal in each period to beat Coulee Region, 3-1, in the opener of a home-and-home series on Friday night.
The two teams return to Janesville to play at 7 p.m. tonight at the Janesville Ice Arena.
Jets goalie Logan Halladay remained sharp, winning his seventh straight decision by stopping 31 of the 32 shots he saw. Halladay hasn't lost since Nov. 3.
After trading goals in the opening period, Tyler Rehm scored his fourth goal of the season early in the second to give Janesville the lead for good. Evan Feno, who assisted on Drew Callin's first-period goal, made it 3-1 with a goal at 7:42 of the third to give the Jets some cushion.
The Jets improved to 15-14-1 and moved into fifth place in the NAHL North.
