JANESVILLE—Four people have now taken out papers to run for three seats on the Janesville School Board.

Diane Eyers, 3320 LaMancha Drive. who ran unsuccessfully for school board last spring, has taken out papers, according to Deb Blazer, assistant board clerk.

Others who have declared their intentions to run are incumbent Kevin Murray; Fred Jackson, who ran unsuccessfully last year; and Dale Thompson, who served on the school board in the 1990s.

Incumbent Scott Feldt has filed a declaration of non-candidacy, Blazer said.

The other incumbent whose term ends in April is longtime board member Bill Sodemann, who has said he is leaning toward not running but who had not made a final decision.

Candidates must turn in their papers, including nominating petitions with at least 100 signatures, by Tuesday, Jan. 7. The election is April 1.

For more information and the required paperwork, contact Blazer at the Educational Services Center, 527 S. Franklin St. or call 608-743-5056.
