JANESVILLE—Police are looking for two people who broke into a Janesville home Monday night, assaulted the occupants and fled with electronic items.

Janesville Police Sgt. Dean Sukus said officers were called about 11 p.m. to the 500 block of South Main Street for a home invasion.

The occupants reported that two people knocked on the door. When they didn't open the door, the two forced their way in, demanded money and physically assaulted the residents before taking the electronic items and fleeing on foot, Sukus said.

Sukus said the two residents were treated and released from Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville.

He said the occupants were able to identify their assailants, and police have developed persons of interests and are continuing their investigation.
