The Rock County Fury and Baraboo played to a 3-3 tie Saturday in high school girls hockey.

Rock County trailed 3-2 after two periods but tied it on Katie Maegli’s goal at 4:15.

“We did a great job today,” Rock County coach Darrel Moore said. “Besides not finishing on some of our chances and giving them too much room on their rushes, we did what we set out to do.

“I’m extremely pleased with the number of shots we’re getting. Sooner or later, we will get them to fall for us.”

Rock County outshot Baraboo 42-25.

The Fury hosts a tournament in Beloit next weekend.

Bluebirds fall--The Janesville Bluebirds fell back to the .500 mark Saturday.

Aussie Miller’s hat trick lifted Stoughton to a 4-2 nonconference win over Janesville’s high school boys co-op team at the Janesville Ice Arena.

Janesville (4-4-1) outshot Stoughton 31-17 but could not contain Miller.

“He’s a nice player who simply outworked us today,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said. “And we didn’t challenge their goalie enough and couldn’t finish around the net.

“It’s frustrating because we’re a much better hockey team than we showed today.”

Connor Perkins and Harry Henschler had Janesville’s goals.

Janesville plays Waukesha on Thursday in the first game of the Joe Raymond Memorial Tournament at Nagawaukee Arena.
