William L. Palmer, age 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at The Heartwarming House in Milton. He was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Milton, WI, the son of the late George and Anna (Lawton) Palmer. Bill graduated from Milton Union High School in 1943. He joined the Marines in 1943 and served until 1945. After returning home, he married Shirley Ward May 19, 1946. Bill was a home builder for 19 years in the Milton area building several homes. He, then, went to work as an engineer at the Admiral Corporation, where he worked for over 10 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, The Moose Club in Janesville, and the Masonic Temple in Milton. Bill and Shirley loved to travel together and they lived the past 20 years in Florida. Bill moved back to Milton, after Shirley passed away in 2008, in Florida.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne Palmer of Milton, and Richard (Linda) Palmer of Janesville; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife; Shirley; son: Gary; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Artis Palmer; and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Henry Pullman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. The ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, Milton, is assisting the family.
