Rattlers fall on road
The UW-Rock County men’s basketball team overcame a 16-point second-half deficit but lost in the final minute on Saturday.
UW-Barron County made a contested jumper with less than a minute left and then a 3-pointer with 11 ticks to go to top the Rattlers 80-75 in Rice Lake.
UW-Rock fell to 9-6 overall and 4-1 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.
“It was very similar to Wednesday, because we got down big early in the second half,” Rattlers coach Scott Lee said. “They made the plays to win in the final minute.”
UW-Rock trailed by 16 in the second half, but battled to make it 75-75 heading into that final minute.
Rattlers guard Safarii Hunt scored a team-high 23 points.
The team is off until Jan. 6. The UW-Rock women host a game at noon on Saturday.
