William H. Crandall, age 72, of Janesville, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at his home. He was born in Milton, on Dec. 11, 1940, the son of Roy and Mary (DeLand) Crandall. William received his Bachelors Degree from UW Whitewater and his Masters Degree from Michigan State University. He was a teacher of Math, English and Caning/Basketry at the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped for 32 years before retiring in 1995. William was married to Darlene Pearson and, later, to Deborah Demmon. He was a member of the Janesville Eagles Club, where he was a past president and the Beloit Moose Club. William was an avid woodworker and enjoyed basketry, caning, crossword puzzles and reading mystery novels.

William is survived by his six children: Michael (Anne) Crandall of Kenmore, WA, Kathleen (Rod) Hall of Hartland, WI, Daniel (Amanda Schwoegler) Crandall of Boulder, CO, Robert (Michael Piette) Crandall of Janesville, Samuel Crandall of Tony, WI, and Aaron (Maria Casal) Crandall of Madison; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Beth LeBlanc of Cottonport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Crandall; and a grandson, Arthur.
