Memorial's height too much for Vikings
Madison Memorial took control at the end of the first quarter and defeated visiting Janesville Parker, 64-48, in a Big Eight Conference game Friday night.
The Vikings were in the game until the final minutes of the first quarter when the Spartans made a run that extended into the second quarter. Memorial led 34-18 at halftime.
“The difference was the end of the first quarter and start of the second quarter,” Parker coach Ryan Masterson said. “They beat us on the offensive glass.”
Senior guard Adam Thompson was the only Viking to score in double figures. Thompson had 16 points, including three 3-pointers.
The Vikings fell to 0-3 in the Big Eight and 1-3 overall. They host Middleton on Thursday night and then travel to Beloit next Saturday.
