SLC: Elkhorn girls top Delavan-Darien

Elkhorn started off the second half with a six-point run and held on to beat Delavan-Darien, 48-43, to open the Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball schedule on Friday night.

Erin Schahczinski paced the Elks with 13 points, while Abbie Kolacke and Audrey Entwistle each added a dozen.

Delavan-Darien made its hay at the free-throw line, making 15 of 21 attempts. Jennah Speth hit nine of them and led the Comets with 15 points.
