RVC boys basketball: Reinhardt sparks Parkview

Senior forward Garrett Reinhardt scored 12 of his game-high 19 points after halftime to help Orfordville Parkview pull away for a 44-31 victory over Palmyra-Eagle on Friday night.

The Vikings outscored the Panthers 20-12 in the decisive fourth quarter, including half a dozen from Reinhardt.

While they didn’t take full advantage, the Vikings succeeded in getting to the free-throw line in the victory. They were 15 of 31 from the stripe, and they made 18 trips there in the final quarter.

Parkview improved to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Rock Valley South Conference. Palmyra-Eagle is now 2-3 and 1-2.

• McFarland 71, East Troy 55—Sophomore forward Benjamin Rounds delivered when needed for the Spartans on Friday night.

Rounds hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final minutes, and the Spartans held off East Troy. Rounds finished with 32 points, including two 3-pointers, and 10 made free throws as McFarland went to 1-2 in the Rock Valley and 1-3 overall.

Matthew Kaminski had 22 points for East Troy, which fell to 1-2 overall and in the Rock Valley.

East Troy got to within four points in the final quarter before McFarland pulled away.

•  Turner 54, Brodhead 48—Alec Fruin scored 13 of his game-high 20 points after halftime and the Trojans held off a late rally for an RVC South victory.

Fruin made seven baskets, including a pair of 3-pointers, and hit all four of his free-throw attempts.

Josiah DeLorme scored nine of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough for the Cardinals. Ned Slocum had 15 points, while Griffin Day added 13.

Derek Severson added 14 for the Cougars in the home victory.

n McFarland 71, East Troy 55—Sophomore forward Benjamin Rounds delivered when needed for the Spartans on Friday night.

Rounds hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final minutes, and the Spartans held off East Troy. Rounds finished with 32 points, including two 3-pointers, and 10 made free throws as McFarland went to 1-2 in the Rock Valley and 1-3 overall.

Matthew Kaminski had 22 points for East Troy, which fell to 1-2 overall and in the Rock Valley.

East Troy got to within four points in the final quarter before McFarland pulled away.
