Janesville Parker’s wrestling team began the season by finishing fourth at the Parker Duals on Saturday.

Random Lake breezed to the team title by going 4-0. Beloit Turner was second with a 3-1 record, while Edgerton was 2-2 and Parker 1-3.

Parker first-year coach Danny Jackson said the Vikings are headed in the right direction despite the slow start.

“It was good to get out there and see where we’re at and what we need to make improvements on,” Jackson said.

“I was really pleased with the way Scott Vander Hagen and Dyonne Thornton wrestled today.”

Parker opens up the Big Eight Conference season Thursday night at crosstown rival Janesville Craig.
