Former Janesville City Council member George Brunner wants to run again
JANESVILLE--George Brunner, 73, of 2423 Stonefield Lane, has taken out nomination papers to run for Janesville City Council.
Brunner is a retired Janesville police chief.
Brunner served on the council from 2005 until he resigned in 2011. DuWayne Severson was elected to finish Brunner's two-year term.
Brunner currently serves on the city's plan commission.
Three seats are open on the council.
Incumbent Jim Farrell already is circulating papers, as is newcomer Mark Bobzien. The two-year terms of Matt Kealy and Kathy Voskuil also are ending.
Residents can pick up papers in the City Clerk's Office at 18 N. Jackson St. They need more than 200 signatures but not more than 400. They must turn in their papers by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
