Margaret Ruth (Crompton) Manz, age 90, of Milton, and formerly of Janesville, died on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville. Margaret was born in Janesville, on July 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Bert and Arley (Hupel) Crompton. She married the boy next door, Charles W. Manz on Dec 31, 1940, in Janesville. Margaret enjoyed being a great homemaker and mom to four girls. She was talented at cooking, sewing, crocheting and gardening. She greatly enjoyed her backyard flowers and the wildlife that visited there. Margaret did child care for many years, which gave her much pleasure and many happy memories. She loved rummage and estate sales, and her own annual rummage sales were anticipated by many.
Margaret is survived by her daughters: Katie Wintlend of Edgerton, Connie Haynes of Janesville, and Pat (John) Drescher of Baraboo; sons-in-laws: John Drescher and Harry Blaisdell; grandchildren: Angie (Paul) Preimesberger, John C. Drescher and Jennifer (Tracy) Timmel; great-grandchildren: Dan Timmel, Jackie Zommers and twins, Maya and Leigh Preimesberger; sisters: Char Parsons, Betty Woodstock and Beverly Hoover, all of Janesville; sister-in-law: Diane Crompton, also of Janesville; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Crompton; brothers: Bob Crompton, Charles Crompton, Joe Crompton and Tom Crompton; daughter, Nancy Blaisdell; grandchildren, Chuck Rudolph and Heidi Haynes; great-grandchild, David Boyer; and son-in-law, Richard Wintlend
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the CHAPEL. Memorials may be made to ECHO, The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
