BELOIT—State transportation officials will be in Beloit next week to present design alternatives for the Interstate 90/39 interchange with Interstate 43 in Beloit.

Department of Transportation officials will hold a public information meeting from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Beloit Rotary River Center, 1160 S. Riverside Drive, Beloit.

A brief formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Due to the recent design changes for safety and operations of I-90/39, a separate environmental assessment will be completed to identify, analyze and address changes since the October 2010 document was approved. The new assessment will determine whether the overall conclusions remain valid.

Improvements at the interchange are part of the I-90/39 expansion project from the Illinois state line to the Beltline in Madison.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display, and state representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
