JANESVILLE—Three young men from Illinois were arrested after two of them stole a car and led a state trooper on a chase early Sunday morning, Janesville police said.

They were drunk and looking for a way home when they took a car that was running at the Citgo station at 1002 S. Jackson St., said police Sgt. Todd Kleisner.

Arrested on charges related to the car theft were Luis F. Quebrado, 22, and Alexander Molina, 18, both of North Chicago, Ill., and Ramon Corona, 21, of Waukegan, Ill.

Quebrado, who was driving, and Corona were arrested at 9:24 a.m. Sunday at Delavan Drive and Read Road.

The trooper was following the pair east on Delavan Drive, when the car pulled into a driveway, Klesiner said. When the trooper activated his emergency lights, the car crossed a lawn, tearing it up, and sped back into town before overturning in the ditch, Kleisner said.

Molina had tried to get in the car but found the door locked, and the car left without him, Klesiner said Police caught up with Molina later, arresting him at 12:19 p.m. Sunday at the police department.

The State Patrol is referring charges of intoxicated driving and fleeing in the case, Kleisner said.
