Richard Sheridan, age 82, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at St. Mary's Janesville Hospital. He was born in Janesville, on May 14, 1931, the son of Edward and Catherine (McKeown) Sheridan. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Greenland. Dick married Diane A. Schweitzer in St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Sept. 1, 1956. He spent many years as a Barber operating Razors Edge on Mineral Point, and also took care of patients at Rock Haven Nursing Home, and the TB Sanitarium. He, later, owned and operated with his father-in-law, brother-in-law, and their children, Ott Schweitzer Distributing Company, before retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church, the Janesville Country Club, Loyal Order of Moose, and the Elk's Club. He loved golfing, music especially Frank Sinatra, attending sporting events, and was a Badger ticket holder. Dick was a practical joker from the start and “proud to be a stockholder” of the Atlanta Braves. He followed current events, was an avid reader, and loved celebrating his Irish Heritage.

Dick is survived by his wife, Diane; two children, Stacie (Terry) Clark of Neenah and Douglas (Denielle) Sheridan of Janesville; three grandchildren: Keaton and Mikenzie Clark and Sophie Sheridan; five siblings: Pat Wileman of Largo, FL, Kay (Lee) Gosda of Portage, Donna (Jerry) Brehm of Janesville, Sally (Paul) Cole of Beloit, and Terry (Judy) Sheridan of Janesville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Theresa Marie; and three brothers: Jack, James (Doris), and Daniel (Ann) Sheridan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at ST. WILLIAM CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. John Auby officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 3 until 7 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
