Darien fire under investigation

VILLAGE OF DARIEN— Area firefighters responded to an early-morning fire at a two-story, single family house at 214 N. Wisconsin St. in the Village of Darien Saturday, according to a news release from the Darien Fire Department.

Members of the department responded to the scene at 4:30 a.m. to find smoke and flames coming from a basement window of the home, which was unoccupied.
Crews from eight neighboring fire departments assisted in battling the blaze, which was under control shortly before 5 a.m.

No injuries were reported. 

Damages to the house are estimated at $80,000.

The Walworth County Arson Task Force and the City of Delavan Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
