Your Thanks: Janesville's Mercy Hospice appreciates support from community
In 2012, nearly 1.5 million patients received hospice services in the U.S. Hospice care is one of the most comprehensive types of care. It offers physical, emotional and spiritual care to terminally ill patients and their families. In honor of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, it’s important to recognize the growing need for hospice and palliative care and the services available in your own backyard.
When you are considering hospice, do know that not all hospices are the same. The requirements are the same, but the quality of care differs from hospice to hospice. Mercy Hospice Care is unique in that it is the only hospice in south-central Wisconsin that is directly linked to a health system. This connection gives us the resources and knowledge to be able to provide our patients and their families with expert care. It also allows patients who have used Mercy Health System as their health care provider to continue to use the same trusted continuum of care.
I am proud and humbled to be part of such an incredible resource in our community that provides comfort, compassion and support to those coping with serious or life-limiting illnesses. Thank you for supporting us over the years; thank you for allowing us to care for your loved ones, and thank you to our compassionate staff for putting all your hearts and minds into the care you give our patients and their families.
