On state reforming mental health care: Wow. This sounds like it could be quite profitable for the health care business. Hmm.

-- This should have been done a long time ago. We have had numerous incidents in our very own municipalities, where strong mental health laws might have prevented some deaths. Another example today (Tuesday) occurred in Virginia.

On new details of Walker campaign investigation: I know it's way premature, but it would do wonders for my soul to see Walker and his colleagues dressed in orange at the end of this investigation. He and his policies have hurt so many people—far more than … they've helped. And he's done it with such callous disregard for the results—and the truth.

-- I'm wondering what the probable cause is to issue subpoenas to 30 groups. Could this be a witch hunt?

On police look for stolen balloon: When someone borrows a balloon to travel, they can sometimes make it “Around the World in 80 Days.” It might behoove authorities to check back at the scene in about two or three months.

--Neil Johnson

-- Was it stolen or just freed? With the high winds we have been having, if it was just “cut loose,” it should be in Lake Michigan by now.

-- If you love a balloon, set it free. If it returns, then it loves you.

-- Don't recall what dollar amount is a felony! Pretty bright over there for nobody on bypass to see something happen.

On Milton glad Redmen controversy is past: This whole thing is political correctness gone wrong. We love and revere our mascots! Lions, Eagles, Vikings, Braves, meat Packers, Badgers, Patriots. Being selected as a mascot is not an act of denigration. We should embrace Native American names as mascots.

--All in

-- This was a bad decision back then, and I can guarantee you someone somewhere objects to the current mascot term also. I totally agree with this new law and think 10 percent is a very minimal amount for a petition.

On Milton's Alexander wins state title: Great job, Bridgette, and congratulations on completing a very successful high school swim career. Thanks to you, and teammate Chelsea Calhoon, for representing Milton so well!

To Greg Peck: I don't really like “trading” gift cards, but then the picky ones can get themselves what they like.

-- If the gift card is for my favorite store, I'm very happy to receive it. Easy for the giver, and lots of fun shopping after Christmas when there are some nice bargains. I don't see where that's a bad thing at all!

-- Tacky, tacky, tacky, the same as giving cash.

-- I don't mind receiving gift cards because I always end up with a purchase I want at a great price for me…free. If people don't spend their gift cards, that's on them. I even received a gift card once for my grocery store, which I loved, although this was not a Christmas gift. It was for removing snow for a neighbor, and this gift was unexpected but appreciated.
