JANESVILLE—A Fort Atkinson man was treated and released from a local hospital after a stabbing Thursday night at 408 S. Jackson St. Five people were arrested and more arrests are expected, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.

Arrested on a charge of obstructing an officer, were: Tianna N. Mizener, 19, of 408 S. Jackson St., Janesville; Kristopher R. Arsenty, 22, of 408 S. Jackson St., Janesville; and Andrew V. Donaldson, 18, of 920 Eisenhower Ave., Janesville.

Also arrested on charges of battery and obstructing an officer, were: Ryan J. Eberley, 20, of 208 N. Willard St., Janesville, and George A. Helmick, 23, of Fort Atkinson, Janesville.

When police arrived on scene at 9:24 p.m. Thursday they found Helmick with a 3-inch stab wound to the right shoulder. He was treated and released from Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, according to the release.

At the same time, Donaldson arrived at the Janesville Police Department stating he had been beat up and needed help.

After officers and detectives interviewed multiple people involved in the incident they found inconsistent stories, making it unclear if the stabbing was in self-defense, according to police.

Detectives continued to investigate Friday, according to the news release.
