Janesville man arrested on sixth drunken-driving offense
JANESVILLE—A Janesville man was arrested on a charge of sixth-offense drunken driving after police found him passed out behind the wheel of a parked vehicle running with its headlights on early Friday morning, according to a Janesville Police Department news release.
Christopher L. Preston, 35, of 1618 Randolph Road, Apt. 8, also was arrested on suspicion of probation violation, according to the news release.
He was arrested at 3:45 a.m. Friday after police were sent to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle parked for 45 minutes in the area of Mount Zion Avenue and Friendship Drive. That's when an officer found the vehicle running with its headlights on and Preston passed out behind the wheel. Preston admitted drinking and showed signs of impairment, the release stated.
He is in custody at the Rock County Jail, where he is being held on the felony charge and the probation violation, according to the news release.
