MILTON—Someone stole a large balloon worth an estimated $6,000 from outside a YMCA in Milton over the weekend, and police are asking for the public's help in finding the thief, according to a news release.

The 24-foot-tall, 12-foot-wide balloon has a sign that says “Grand Opening” on it, and was stolen from the grounds of the Parker YMCA, 1360 Parkview Drive, Milton police said.

Someone cut the cables that held the multi-colored balloon in place and took it sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, according to the release.

An electric motor and light were also stolen, police said.
