September 18, 1944 - November 3, 2013
Gordon T. Walther, 69, of Burlington, passed away at his residence on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. He was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Johnson Creek, to Oscar and Elizabeth (Liptow) Walther. He spent his early life in Johnson Creek and Sharon. On Nov. 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Helen Rose Forsythe in McHenry, IL. Following marriage, they lived in Delavan, and Lake Geneva, before moving to Burlington, in 1985. He was a mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service, where he delivered mail in Lake Geneva, retiring in 2002. Gordon served three years in the Army and was then introduced to the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He found much comfort, joy and strength in his faith. He had a love for the Ministry where he was able to share Bible truths with many. Gordon was an Elder in the local Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed traveling and loved all the vacations he took. He loved driving along the East and West coasts to visit all the light houses along the way. He loved to play cards, and play his guitar. His greatest joy was his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Gordy is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Brenda (Brady) Lueck and Anthony Walther; his grandchildren: Jake (Lisa Testroote), Dustin, Jeremy, Ashley, Jenna, Anthony D., Jayson, James, Anthony G., Olivia and Cameron; great grandchildren, Noah and one baby girl on the way; his sister, Sandy Lowman; and nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diane; two grandchildren, Megan and Millicent “Millie”; and siblings: Micky, Herb, Ozzie, Shirley, Carol, Richie, Gloria, Barbara, Jim, Victor and Arlis.
