Dennis P. Koback, age 69, of Janesville, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at his home. He was born in Milwaukee, on Aug. 8, 1944, the son of Sylvester and Alice Jean (Zabrowski) Koback. Following graduation, Dennis served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Gail Ann (Fisher) Hauboldt in West Allis, on Oct. 11, 1985. Dennis had been employed as a public servant in numerous capacities. He was a Police Officer in Brookfield for 14 years. Dennis was the Emergency Manager in Pomona, CA, and the 911 Director in Grand Forks, ND. Finally, Dennis was employed by the Transportation Safety Authority in Airport Security at General Mitchell International Airport, Milwaukee, until retiring in 2008. He was a Janesville resident for the past 12 years, where he was a member of Kienow Hilt VFW Post 1621.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Gail; son, Dennis (Susan) Koback of Milwaukee; daughter, Laura Russell of Santa Clarita, CA; two step children, Robert Hauboldt of Milwaukee, and Leigh Ann (Lee) Weinstein of Blue Bell, PA; and eight grandchildren: Samantha Carrodus, Rebecca Russell, Benjamin Russell, Christopher Russell, Jonathan Russell, Dennis Koback, Brandon Koback, and Kieran Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings: Darryl Koback, Richard Koback, David Koback, and Terry Deacon.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, from 3 until 5 p.m. with Military Honors from Kienow Hilt VFW Post 1621 at 4:30 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, Janesville.
