Glenn W. (Bill) Anderson, Jr. of Janesville, passed away at home on Friday, Nov. 1st, 2013, with his loving family at his side. He was born at home on Aug. 20, 1933, to Glenn W. Anderson, Sr. and Ruth E (Isaacson) Anderson in Andover Township, IL. He was reared and received his education at Woodhull and Alpha, IL, schools, attended Bethany Lutheran Church, Woodhull, and graduated from AL-Wood High School in 1951. He farmed with his parents and served with the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict from 1953 until 1955. He married Shirley A. Lee at St John's Catholic Church, Woodhull, on June 25, 1955. They lived in Alpha, he continued farming and was employed by Rutledge Nursery, Alpha. He was a member of St John's Catholic Church, Woodhull, and Alpha American Legion Post #1166. In 1957, he joined Michigan-WI Pipeline at New Windsor, IL, and in 1964, was transferred by the pipeline to Marshfield, WI.

For the 18 years they lived in Marshfield, Bill belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, was a 56 year member of American Legion Post 54 and a 46 year member of the John Eisen Council of Knights of Columbus 1799. He bowled for many years on the Marshfield News Herald bowling team. Bill was an outreach driver for the Marshfield Clinic. The pipeline transferred him to Supervisor at the Janesville ANR compressor station in 1983. He continued at that station until 1998, when he retired after 41 years. He belonged to St Mary Catholic Church in Milton, and served as an usher. Bill liked to take care of his lawns on his John Deere tractor and was a true handyman. He loved golf and following Steve Stricker, especially when he was playing at the John Deere Open in Moline, IL. Bill belonged to a Seniors League at Coachman Resort. He and Shirley enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling, the Packers and had WI Badger football season tickets.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; two children, Angie Anderson of Janesville, and Thomas (Lara) Anderson of Medinah, IL; two sisters, Jean Lauer and Mildred (Alan) Peterson of Glen Ellyn, IL: one sister-in-law, Idella Anderson of Moline, IL; his mother-in-law, Mildred Lee of Geneseo, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law: Barbara (Jack) Perry of Woodland Hills, CA, Gary (Sharon) Lee of E. Moline, IL, Randy Lee of Osco, IL, and Rod (Kim) Lee of San Diego, CA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive, as well as, grand dog, Tank. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Sidney; brother-in-law, Carl Lauer; father-in-law, Louis Lee; sisters-in-law, Dee Lee and Tina Lee; and three dachshunds: Henry, Duke and Bogen.

The service with the Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday Nov. 16 at ST MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH in Milton, WI. The visitation will be at 10 a.m. at the CHURCH until the time of service at 11 a.m. A private burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to any of the three churches Bill belonged to or a charity of your choice.
