MADISON—Gov. Scott Walker is looking for applicants for appointment as coroner in Rock County, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of current coroner Jenifer Keach.

The new coroner will begin serving upon appointment and will complete a term ending January 5, 2015. The position will be eliminated in 2015 as Rock County will transition to an appointed medical examiner.
An applicant must reside in Rock County at the time the appointment becomes effective.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume and application (found on www.walker.wi.gov; select the “apply to serve” tab on the right side of the page). Completed application materials should be emailed to govappointments@wisconsin.gov or mailed to: Office of the Governor; Attenion: Eric Esser, director of gubernatorial appointments; 115 East, State Capitol, Madison, WI 53707-7863.

Applicants should outline in their cover letters what professional and academic experiences qualify them to be coroner and describe their civic activities and community involvement.

Application materials must be received no later than noon on Monday, November 25.

Potential applicants with questions about the appointments process may contact Eric Esser at (608) 266-1212.
