TOWN OF BELOIT—All lanes of traffic in the one-mile section of Highway 51 between Inman Parkway and Elmwood Avenue in the town of Beloit have reopened after they were shut down early Friday morning.

The road was closed before 5 a.m. Friday after an overturned semi lost the 50,000-pound steamroller it was carrying, said a lead dispatcher at the Rock County Communications Center.

The rollover happened at 2:32 a.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Highway 51. Emergency crews were able to direct traffic through an open lane until 4:45 a.m.,  when wrecker equipment arrived to remove the overturned vehicles, the dispatcher said.

The section of this road was closed for nearly an hour. All lanes of traffic were open by 5:30 a.m., according to a dispatcher.
