Taylor "Tate" Jerome Richmond, age 24, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Hiawatha Homes-Bel Air House in Rochester, after a courageous battle with ataxia telangiectasia. Tate was born Aug. 3, 1989, in Winona, to Nikki and Nick Richmond. He was a 2008 graduate of Cochrane-Fountain City High School. He was a member of "Team 25" from the Shjon Podein Children's Foundation and participated in Task Karate in LaCrosse, WI. Tate enjoyed collecting things such as watches, knives, jerseys and key chains and was also a fan of Dodge Viper cars. Most of all, Tate was proud to be a godfather to Hope Richmond and Sydni Taylor Pecevich, and an uncle to Declan Taylor Ressie.

Tate is survived by his mother, Nikki Richmond; father, Nick Richmond (formerly of Janesville, WI); brother, Shane (Lisa) Ressie; sister, Jamie (friend, Ed Davis) Ressie; nephew, Declan Ressie; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Richmond; his little buddy, Rico; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Bee; Grandpa Nick; Grandpa Jerry; and Grandma Miller; friend, Brian Christensen; and friends who no longer have ataxia telanglectasia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the ST. THOMAS MORE CHAPEL on the campus of St. Mary's University in Winona. Tate's cousin, Father John Abts, will officate. Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm until 8 pm, where a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the St. Thomas More Chapel at St. Mary's University. Visitation will also be held from 10  until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the St. Thomas More Chapel. Pallbearers will be Joe Chase, Jarod Nelson, Shane Ressie, Scott Richmond, Tony Richmond, Hope Richmond and Randy Thompson. Entrusted to our care - Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home.
