Area law enforcement officers arrested four men—one of them twice--during a program that monitors local sex offenders during trick or treating over the Halloween holiday, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

“Operation Trick or Treat,” which ran October 26-31 during trick-or-treat times in municipalities countywide, is in its fifth year of operation.

Walworth County sheriff's deputies, along with other local law enforcement officers and probation and parole agents, went to the homes of 134 known registered sex offenders on active supervision through the department of corrections who are living in Walworth County, according to the release.

Jeffrey E Walski, age 38, of the Town of Lyons. Walski had an outstanding warrant and was arrested during the operation. Walski posted bond and was released, but was arrested again the next day for probation-parole hold.

Also arrested were: Matthew W Vander Pluym, 19, of LaGrange, for probation-parole hold; Matthew L. Camp, 22, of the town of Bloomfield, for violation of sex offender rules; and Donald N Spallone, 28, of the town of Walworth, for an outstanding warrant. Spallone posted bond and was released.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry Team and probation and parole agents were assisted by officers from Whitewater Police Department, Elkhorn Police Department, Sharon Police Department, City of Lake Geneva Police Department, and the Town of Geneva Police Department Police Department.
