Your Views: Obamacare is simply a disaster
As Obamacare unfolds, it has been a disaster thus far, with the enrollment process being a disaster, with technology (i.e. software), people’s knowledge of what to do, etc., in total disarray. Is that a surprise to anyone, when then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated, “…we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it…”?
Pelosi and her ilk weren’t prepared then, and they aren’t prepared now. Let’s see where it leads to. The Center for Data Analysis at the Heritage Foundation offers some interesting financial figures about Medicaid and Medicare. At the presentation of Medicaid 50 years ago, Part A was projected to cost $9 billion in 1990. Actual costs: $67 billion. Part B’s projected yearly costs were $500 million. Last year, the actual cost was $163.8 billion.
The Congressional Budget Office has projected that Obamacare will cost $250 billion a decade from now. Let’s see where it leads us. It’s here, and let’s hope the CBO figures aren’t underestimated.
