I am writing this letter to recognize Plahn’s Army Navy store here in Janesville for recognizing Wisconsin’s fallen service men and women during the time of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

The Rock County Dryhootch is truly grateful to Plahn’s for hosting the “Remembering Our Fallen” tribute displaying the pictures of the military men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in honor of our country.

We are especially thankful for Bonnie, her family and all of the employees at Plahn’s Army Navy for supporting our not-for-profit organization for veterans who survived the war to survive the peace back at home, by donating food, music, chairs, a large monetary donation, and for advertising our organization.

The Rock County Dryhootch is a safe environment for veterans and community members to socialize and support one another as peer to peer and as support groups.

We would also like to recognize and appreciate all of the Janesville community members and Gold Star families for coming out to purchase items, make donations, and to see the Remembering Our Fallen tribute. Thank you to Deb Grams with the Janesville Community Gardens and 132nd Army National Guard for providing tents for this event. We would like to also thank Mary Liz with the Red Cross in Janesville for providing tables and drinks for the event and to all of the volunteers for making this event possible.
