EAST TROY--Erik Buell Racing LLC, the motorcycle manufacturer with an East Troy-based production facility, has come out with a new street bike that's targeted to compete with similar motorcycles that have long been made internationally.

According to a company news release, the EBR 1190RX was unveiled at the American International Motorcycle Exposition in Orlando, Fla. Wednesday.

The high-performance 185-horsepower motorcycle will retail at about $20,000.

Production of the street bike is expected to begin in December in East Troy.

EBR received a financial boost in July when Hero MotoCorp Ltd, an India-based motorcycle manufacturer, made a $25 million investment in the company, buying a 49.2 stake in EBR.

When the announcement was made CEO Erik Buell, a former Harley-Davidson Inc. engineer, said he hoped to bring production of the bikes up to 100 per month and hire an additional 25 workers to his current staff of about 75 by 2014.
