Beloit police investigate pair of armed home invasions
BELOIT—City police continue their investigation of two armed home invasions, including one in which a person at one of the homes was shot Monday night.
The first incident occurred about 8 p.m. Monday at a home in the 1700 block of Hurst Avenue.
In a news release, police said more than one man forced entry into the residence, struck the victim with a handgun and held the victim on the floor while the men went through the residence. The men then fled with electronics and an undetermined amount of cash.
The victim, who was treated for minor injuries at the scene, said the men were wearing masks.
The victim in the second invasion gave the same description.
That incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue, police said in the release.
The victim said more than one man forced entry and a struggle took place. The victim was shot twice in the right shoulder, and the men fled. The victim was taken to Beloit Memorial Hospital.
Early Tuesday, evidence technicians were at both scenes and detectives continued their investigation.
