Lyons man dies after motorcycle crash
LYONS TOWNSHIP--A Lyons man died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, days after a motorcycle crash on September 29 at the intersection of Wisconsin Highway 50 and South Road in the town of Lyons, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.
The victim was identified as Josh Tauscher, 25.
According to the release, on September 29 at about 6:23 p.m., Tauscher was attempting to drive his motorcycle eastbound onto Wisconsin Highway 50 from South Road when he struck a pick-up truck and trailer that was also eastbound in the south lane of Wisconsin Highway 50.
When Tauscher hit the truck, he was ejected from the motorcycle and struck the trailer before coming to rest in the middle of the road.
Tauscher was taken by ambulance to Aurora Burlington Memorial Hospital before being flown by Flight For Life to a Milwaukee-area hospital with critical injuries. Tauscher was pronounced dead there this morning.
According to the sheriff's release, Tauscher was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the crash, but the case remains under investigation by the Walworth County Crash Investigation Unit.
