Madison La Follette won the boys title, while Madison Memorial earned the girls title in the Big Eight Conference 5-Team Challenge cross-country meet at Yahara Hills on Tuesday.

Janesville Craig took second and Janesville Parker was third in the boys meet.

Parker was second and Craig fifth in the girls event.

Parker’s Keegan McCluskey was third in the boys race for the top local finish.

The Vikings’ Paiton Foster was fourth for the top local finish in the girls race.

“They got beat up pretty good in the Midwest Invitational (Saturday),” said Parker boys coach Dan Bouska. “All these teams were in the Midwest. We just picked out runners at the Midwest that were close to them and said, ‘Try to beat them.’

“For the most part it worked out that way.”

The Vikings run in the Stoughton Invitational on Saturday.

Craig teams participate in the Racine Case Invitational on Saturday.
