Solar tour includes Janesville stops

The public is invited to see renewable energy up close during the 2013 Wisconsin Solar Tour on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The free tour will stop at nearly 100 sites around the state, including Janesville.

Sites will showcase advances in energy-efficient construction, new products, sustainable landscaping and renewable energy technologies. The tour is intended to demonstrate  that renewable energy is practical, reliable and affordable in today's economy.

This tour will give interested buyers a chance to talk with people who live and work with renewable energy and green building features.

Tour sites are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The tour is sponsored by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association. It is part of the National Solar Tour coordinated by the American Solar Energy Society.
