FORT ATKINSON—Paced by the victorious 200 freestyle relay team, Janesville Craig’s girls swim team finished fourth Saturday at the Fort Atkinson Invitational.

Burlington won the nine-team invite title with 378.5 points, while Baraboo was second with 371. Milton had 338 to finish third and Craig was fourth with 324.

Sierra Rhodes, Kendall Cawkins, Maggie Gorman and Alexis Roach finished in 1:43.41 to give Craig the win in the 200 freestyle relay. The time broke the school record of 1:43.79 set in 2012.

“To break a school record in the middle of the season is pretty impressive,” Craig coach Brian Kitzman.

“And overall, we swam very well as a team today. Burlington, Baraboo and Milton are three very good teams, and we were right there with them.”

Milton’s Bridgette Alexander won the 100 backstroke and the 200 individual medley, with teammate Chelsea Calhoon winning the 500 freestyle.

Fort Atkinson’s Emma Bare won the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. The Blackhawks also won the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relays.
