A bit miffed at losing their second game on Tuesday, the Janesville Parker Vikings made a statement in the third game against Madison East.

A 25-15 win in that game paved the way to a 3-1 Big Eight Conference volleyball victory over the Purgolders.

“The girls are playing with a lot of confidence; I think they were upset they lost that second set,” Parker coach Kathy Bullis said. “In the third set, they were really passing well and being confident with hitting.”

The Vikings closed out the fourth game with a 25-23 victory.

Kyslee Greve (20 digs and two aces), Kristin Dallman (six kills and three blocks) and Claire Fox (22 assists and two aces) led the Vikings.

“And Maddie Clark had probably her best game I’d ever seen her play,” Bullis said of her middle blocker. “She was running a lot of slides and hitting it really hard.”

Parker (2-3 Big Eight) hosts Madison West on Thursday and will honor their mentees, the junior spiking Vikings, before the match.

The Cougars won, 25-18, 25-16, 25-11 to go to 3-2 in the Big Eight.

“In the first game, I think both sides came out a little flat,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said. “In games 2 and 3, we put things together. We passed solidly and both our middles played well.”

Ali Calkins and McKenzie Bertagnoli each finished with 12 kills.

“Amanda Trapp and Gabby Loveland did a super job passing from the back row,” Budrow said.

The Cougars play at Madison La Follette on Thursday.
