Family seeks information on whereabouts of 19-year-old
JANESVILLE—The family of a Janesville man last seen by his girlfriend on Labor Day hope flyers around town and posts on Facebook will help find him.
Jonathan Presti was last seen the night of Sept. 2 leaving his girlfriend's home in the Chicago area, his mother Nancy said.
Presti's family called police to report him missing later that week. Since then, flyers of the 19-year-old have been a ubiquitous sight at Janesville businesses and on social networking sites.
The posters describe Presti as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair.
He has a tattoo of a cross on his left arm and is likely riding a lime green and black Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.
His family is asking anyone with information to call Rock County authorities at (608) 757-2244.
Nancy Presti said she's not sure if word is getting out in the right places, wondering instead if her son has gone to Florida or the Carolinas. She doesn't think he's in Rock County.
Court records show a judge issued a bench warrant for Jonathan Presti in July after he missed a court appearance. He was charged in July with attempting to flee a traffic officer.
Rock County Sheriff's Office Capt. Jude Maurer said Presti is listed as a missing person and authorities have been in touch with his family.
Asked if she is concerned Jonathan might be in danger, Nancy Presti said she was concerned about his mental state.
