Meghann Hoag kept her undefeated streak alive, but Madison West defeated Janesville Parker, 6-1, in a Big Eight Conference girls tennis match Tuesday.

Hoag improved to 12-0 at No. 2 singles, beating Karelina Lungora, 6-3, 6-4 for Parker’s lone victory.

“Madison West is one of the top teams in the Big Eight,” Parker coach Justin Long said. “I just told the girls we had to come out and be aggressive and that is what Meghann did. Becky Harmata also had a good match at No. 1 singles.”

Parker fell to 3-3 in the conference and will travel to Verona on Thursday.

Craig (2-4) got its lone win from Kaylee Rossing at No. 1 singles.

“Even the La Follette coach said the meet was a lot closer than the score,” Craig coach Bill Peyer said. “We had some chances in singles but lost the third set.

“I was hoping we could get a win today that would spring us to the next level. We came out flat, however, and didn’t play as well as we could have.”
