Mason Dixon touchdown not enough for Beloit College

MONMOUTH, Ill.—Big Foot High graduate Mason Dixon scored a touchdown but it was not nearly enough as Monmouth (Ill.) College dominated visiting Beloit, 59-14, in a college football game Saturday.

Dixon, a freshman, scored on a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the Buccaneers on the scoreboard.

Monmouth’s Trey Yocum had 184 rushing yards and three touchdowns by halftime.

The Fighting Scots scored on six of their first seven possessions while the defense limited Beloit to just 50 first-half yards. Monmouth outgained the Bucs, 506-248, despite a seven-minute Beloit edge in time of possession.

Beloit scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns on a pair of 73-yard drives.

Yocum finished with 194 yards for the Scots on 21 carries.
