Push-Walk-Ride benefits local groups
LAKE GENEVA — The Geneva National Foundation, in partnership with Mercy Health System, will host the fourth annual Push-Walk-Ride event on Sunday, Sept. 15, at Geneva National Golf Club, 1221 Geneva National Ave. South, Lake Geneva.
The event gives three local organizations the opportunity to reach out to individuals in the community to sponsor them to push someone else, walk themselves or ride in a wheelchair, along a one-mile course at Geneva National Golf Club.
Participants can choose to help Lakeland School, the Autism Support Fund or Inspiration Ministries.
A health fair will be held in conjunction with this event. Those attending will receive complimentary screenings, such as blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, bone density and more. There also will be activities and games for children.
The live stage show, Handicap This!, is performed by Tim Wambach and Mike Berkson, who will light up the stage with their life stories told through humor and music. It will challenge your thinking about people with disabilities.
The health fair will begin at noon along with registration for the Push-Walk-Ride. The Handicap This! live stage show will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the Push-Walk-Ride will begin at 3 p.m.
