Grant program workshops for farmers and food entrepreneurs set

Margaret Krome, program director of public policy at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute in East Troy, is among the featured speakers at a workshop designed to help farmers and food entrepreneurs successfully apply for agricultural grant programs.

The workshop will cover three USDA grant programs, as well as a Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection program, “Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin.” The workshop will discuss ways to plan a project, strengthen a grant application, and help determine which grants or other financial options are right for individual projects.

The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch. Cost is $15.

The workshop is sponsored by MFAI, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, USDA: Rural Development, USDA: SARE, University of Wisconsin-Extension, and WDATCP.
