MADISON--Taylor Wyss shot an 86 to finish ninth individually and help Janesville Parker High’s girls golf team to a sixth-place finish at Madison Edgewood’s Crusade Fore a Cure on Monday.

High temperatures and quick putting surfaces made for higher scores than usual.

“That course is a difficult course with mature trees and lightning-fast greens,” Parker coach Mary Ross said. “A lot of kids struggled putting, but we finished sixth. We’re holding our own and survived today.”

The event raised funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and all of the teams were decked out in pink attire.

Micayla Richards shot 89 for the Vikings.

Milton was ninth at 392. Edgerton shot 456.

Janesville Parker, Janesville Craig and Beloit Memorial play in Big Eight action at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside.
